General Information
The Continuum 2025 conference, scheduled for June 10-12, 2025*, in San Juan, PR, will bring together clinical, behavioral, social science, and community experts in HIV prevention, treatment, and care under the theme, Reframing HIV Care. The 20th anniversary conference will highlight the latest evidence, strategies, and innovations in the field of HIV care with the aim of promoting collaboration among clinicians, researchers, policymakers, and community advocates.
A key feature of the conference is the introduction of a new track focused on primary care and health-related quality of care (HRQoL). This additional track underscores the growing recognition of the importance of addressing the full spectrum of health and well-being for people living with and affected by HIV. By focusing on the intersection of HIV clinical management, primary care, and the broader aspects of HRQoL, the conference will reflect a holistic person-centered approach to HIV care that centers overall physical, mental, and social health in the HIV response.
The conference’s six tracks represent critical pillars for optimizing HIV outcomes:
- HIV Prevention will cover biomedical, behavioral, and structural interventions, including PrEP;
- HIV Treatment will showcase advancements in ART delivery and person-centered HIV care;
- HIV Care Continuum will highlight efforts to close gaps across HIV prevention and treatment continua;
- Primary Care and HRQoL will focus on integration of HIV and primary care to enhance health outcomes;
- Implementation Science will explore how research can be effectively translated into practice; and
- Social Determinants of Health will examine structural barriers/facilitators affecting HIV outcomes.
In addition to a Keynote Address, Memorial Lecture, and Memorial Colloquium, the Continuum 2025 conference will feature plenary sessions, panel discussions, and oral and e-poster abstract sessions, offering attendees an opportunity to engage with thought leaders and innovators. Attendees will also have an opportunity to experience the vibrant culture of San Juan, PR, a Fast-Track City with a long-standing commitment to health equity.
* The conference will be preceded by a Maximizing 340B Institute on June 9, 2025.

Maximizing 340B Institute
Maximizing 340B Institute: Strategies for Sustainable HIV Care
The 340B Drug Pricing Program is a critical mechanism that enables covered entities, including Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program clinics, to stretch federal resources to expand access to medications, services, and care for people living with or vulnerable to HIV. Properly leveraging the 340B program can enhance sustainability, improve health outcomes, and accelerate progress towards the Ending the HIV Epidemic (EHE) initiative’s targets. However, many health organizations and clinics lack the knowledge and operational capacity to establish, optimize, and scale 340B participation effectively. To address these gaps, the Maximizing 340B Institute will be hosted as a pre-conference event on June 9, 2025, preceding the Continuum 2025 conference in San Juan, Puerto Rico. This institute will provide participants with expert-led insights, technical training, and best practices for leveraging the 340B program to strengthen HIV service delivery.
RATIONALE
The Maximizing 340B Institute’s program represents a key funding and sustainability strategy for clinics and healthcare organizations, yet many entities encounter barriers related to program compliance, implementation, and operational efficiency. Given the increasing scrutiny of the program and the need for enhanced accountability, healthcare leaders must develop strategies to optimize their 340B participation while maintaining adherence to federal requirements. The Maximizing 340B Institute aims to fill knowledge and capacity gaps by equipping clinics, community health centers, and healthcare administrators with practical insights for optimizing 340B clinics for sustained impact in delivering HIV and related health services.
OBJECTIVES
The following are the Maximizing 340B Institute’s five key objectives:
1. Capacity-Building: Provide training on optimizing 340B programs, including continuousquality improvement, marketing and engagement, partnerships, and compliance.
2. Operational Insights: Offer practical guidance on establishing and scaling 340B clinics to enhance service delivery for people living with and vulnerable to HIV.
3. Best Practices and Case Studies: Highlight successful implementation models and share real-world examples of how 340B clinics have improved HIV-related health outcomes.
4. Policy and Compliance Considerations: Provide updates on federal policy changes, regulatory expectations, and strategies for audit preparedness.
5. Networking and Knowledge Exchange: Promote collaboration among healthcare leaders, community health organizations, policymakers, and industry experts.
