*Primary reasons for not taking drugs for HIV or AIDS: (1) I don’t feel like I am in danger of getting ill from HIV and AIDS. (2) My doctor told me that I’m not eligible. (3) Healthcare professionals don’t seem to know enough about the treatment to help me. (4) I don’t feel like the treatment would help. (5) It’s too expensive or I have no money. (6) Don’t want to be known as HIV positive. (7) Too hard to keep up with the doses. (8) Healthcare professionals different from me and make me uncomfortable. (9) My clinic has no access to HIV/AIDS drugs. (10) Drugs have too many side effects. (11) Treatment not effective. (12) Don’t have access to doctor. (13) Don’t want my employers to know that I’m HIV positive. (14) Have to travel too far to get treatment.
